Description
Canesten cream is an effective broad-spectrum antifungal agent with the active ingredient clotrimazole. Clotrimazole prevents the reproduction of the causative agent of skin mycosis. It is suitable for the treatment of mycoses in the intimate area of both women and men. Canesten cream is a white cream with a soft consistency that is very easy to apply and spread on the affected area and is quickly absorbed. Canesten cream is suitable for adults and children from 2 years of age.

How to use
Canesten cream is applied 2-3 times a day to the affected areas in a thin layer. A strip of cream about half a centimeter long should be enough to treat an area the size of the palm of your hand.
The usual duration of treatment for dermatomycoses is 3 to 4 weeks, for erythrasma – 2 to 4 weeks, for pityriasis versicolor – 1 to 3 weeks. To achieve complete cure, the cream must be used for the above period, even if the clinical signs of the disease disappear.
Canesten cream is applied 2 to 3 times a day to the affected areas in a thin layer for inflammation of the external genitalia in women and balanitis in men, in women on the external genitalia up to the anus, in men on the skin of the foreskin and glans. A strip of cream half a centimeter long should be enough to treat an area the size of the palm of your hand. The usual duration of treatment is 1 to 2 weeks.
Before each use of the cream, the affected area must be thoroughly washed and dried.
Product specifics
Clotrimazole may reduce the effectiveness and safety of latex contraceptive devices such as condoms and pessaries (when used in the genital area). The effect is temporary and only occurs during the course of treatment.
Contact with the eyes should be avoided and the medicine should not be swallowed.
Canesten cream contains cetylstearyl alcohol, which may cause a local skin reaction (e.g. contact dermatitis).
Canesten cream contains 20 mg of benzyl alcohol per gram of cream. Benzyl alcohol may cause an allergic reaction. Benzyl alcohol may cause mild local irritation.
Composition
1 g of dermal cream contains 10 mg of clotrimazole. Canesten contains 20 mg/g of benzyl alcohol and cetyl stearyl alcohol. Other excipients: sorbitan stearate, polysorbate 60, cetyl palmitate, cetyl stearyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol, octyldodecanol and purified water.
