Cholecalciferol - The sunshine vitamin. Function: With exposure to sunlight and the effect of UV radiation, vitamin D can be produced by the body itself. However, a large percentage of the global population is deficient, possibly due to reduced sun exposure and use of sunscreen. Its deficiency is linked to osteopenia, osteoporosis, and rickets in children.
