Lithosolv 100 retard tablets
Description
LITHOSOLV
DescriptionAlkaline potassium salt food supplement, particularly helpful for those experiencing intense fluid loss, such as heavy sweating, diuresis, or diarrhea, or for patients undergoing drug therapy such as diuretics, laxatives, or corticosteroids.
LITHOSOLV is also able to correct excessive acid load, which can be directly assessed by measuring urinary pH; this can be easily done using the strips included in the package.
Ingredients
Tribasic potassium citrate.
Nutritional characteristics
| Average values | for 2 tablets |
| Potassium citrate | 2,160 mg (equivalent to 781.94 mg of potassium) |
How to use
It is recommended to take two tablets a day, unless otherwise indicated by your doctor.
LITHOSOLV should preferably be taken on a full stomach, swallowing the tablet with a little water.
For other indications (prevention of kidney stones), follow the doctor's prescription.
USING pH STRIPS
Collect the urine in a container.
With dry hands, remove a strip from the clear pouch and dip it into the urine for 1 second; remove it and allow the excess urine to drip off. The wet side of the strip will change color depending on the urine's pH.
Within 2 minutes, compare the color of the strip with the color on the reference color scale included in the package.
Read the value corresponding to the color that is closest to the color on the strip.
Disposable strips should be disposed of in household waste after use.
Note: Any changes in the color of unused strips do not affect their accuracy.
Warnings
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Keep out of reach of children under 3 years of age.
Supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
LITHOSOLV is contraindicated in patients with hyperkalemia or hypermagnesemia, or conditions that may predispose to the onset of these plasma alterations. These conditions include chronic renal failure and uncontrolled diabetes mellitus.
Concomitant use of LITHOSOLV and potassium-sparing drugs (triamterene, spironolactone, amiloride) may cause hyperkalemia. Monitoring potassium levels is therefore recommended.
There are no known interactions with other medications. Rarely, mild gastrointestinal disturbances such as abdominal heaviness, nausea, and occasionally diarrhea may develop during treatment. The tablet formulation may be particularly suitable for these individuals.
