Sea buckthorn is well known for its many virtues, there are a number of studies on its nutritional and medicinal values. The oil extracted from the pulp or seeds of the berry contains numerous bioactive substances in high concentration, which give it a strong antioxidant, regenerating, cicatrizing and nourishing action. Sea buckthorn oil, especially the one extracted from the seeds, contains an abundance of omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids, carotenoids, vitamin E, phytosterols (stigmasterol, β-sistosterol), trace elements.
