OKKLUglas eye dressing – secure protection after eye surgery or injury

OKKLUglas is a ready-to-use eye dressing (watch glass dressing) with a surrounding adhesive strip and a transparent, shatterproof protective cap to cover and protect the eye. It is used after surgical procedures, in cases of injuries to the outer eye, or when eyelid closure is impaired. Depending on the variant, OKKLUglas provides a mechanical barrier that creates a moist environment around the eye or allows optimal air circulation through ventilation openings. Special AERO-UV variants combine mechanical protection with UV protection class 2-1.2 according to DIN EN 170. OKKLUglas is suitable for adults, children, and babies (each with age-appropriate sizes and variants).

Application areas and variants

The eye patch is used particularly after ptosis surgery, in cases of lagophthalmos (incomplete eyelid closure), facial palsy, for treating injuries to the external eye, and for protection after eye surgery. The versions with comfort or extra-large comfort patches ensure a secure fit, while the SILICONE versions utilize silicone adhesive. The standard and EXTRA versions promote the formation of a protective moisture chamber around the eye, while the AERO versions ensure optimal air circulation through ventilation openings. AERO UV and AERO EXTRAUV also offer certified UV protection for the eye.

Instructions for use

Before applying the eye patch, the skin around the eye should be clean, free of oils, and dry to ensure optimal adhesion. Bushy eyebrows can impair adhesion; shave or pluck your eyebrows if medically necessary. Carefully remove the protective film and place the eye patch centrally over the eye, ensuring the shatterproof cover is centered over the eye and the eye itself is not covered by the patch. For the EXTRA version, the large adhesive area faces upwards towards the eyebrow. Secure the patch to the skin with gentle pressure. Important warnings and contraindications

OKKLUglas should not be used if you have a known allergy or intolerance to adhesive bandages. The bandage should not be applied to broken skin or mucous membranes. Wearing a watch glass bandage can severely impair vision, which particularly affects your ability to drive. Due to the risk of increased bacterial contamination and loss of complete adhesion, OKKLUglas is intended for single use only. The product should be stored in a dry place. Serious incidents related to the product should be reported to the manufacturer and/or the relevant authorities.
