It should be used with caution in patients with hypertension, heart failure, pulmonary or peripheral edema, renal failure, pre-eclampsia, hyperaldosteronism, cirrhosis and other liver disorders, hypervolemia, urinary tract obstruction, hypoproteinemia, and other conditions and treatments (eg, corticosteroids) associated with sodium retention.
