Description

The 3x Fexahist Allergy set is a medicinal product for use in hay fever (accompanied by sneezing, itching, runny nose) with symptoms of redness and watery eyes.

Composition

The active substance is fexofenadine (Fexofenadini hydrochloridum).

Each tablet contains 120 mg of fexofenadine hydrochloride (Fexofenadini hydrochloridum), equivalent to 112 mg of fexofenadine.

Excipients: croscarmellose sodium, pregelatinized corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, hypromellose E-15, hypromellose E-5, povidone K30, titanium dioxide (E171), colloidal anhydrous silica, macrogol 400, red iron oxide (E172), yellow iron oxide (E172).

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist.

Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet once a day.

Tablet for oral administration. Swallow the tablet with a glass of water.

Take the tablet one hour before or two hours after a meal or drinking fruit juice.

Action

Fexahist Allergy is a non-sedating H1 antihistamine. Its effects begin within an hour of administration and last for 24 hours.

Indications

Treating the symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis), which may include sneezing, itchy nose, nasal congestion, watery, itchy, red and watery eyes.

Contraindications

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Fexahist Allergy can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

If you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction, which may include difficulty breathing, dizziness, collapse or loss of consciousness, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, and/or swelling and redness of the skin, stop using the medicine and consult a doctor immediately.

Other side effects that may occur in adults and adolescents include:

Common: may affect up to 1 in 10 people: headache; drowsiness.

Uncommon: may affect up to 1 in 100 people: abnormal ECG heart tracing; blood test results showing liver problems; dizziness; stomach pain; tiredness; increased appetite; irregular heartbeat; weight gain; nausea; anxiety; dry or uncomfortable feeling in the nose; abdominal pain; diarrhea; gastritis (inflammation of the lining of the stomach); vertigo (dizziness or a spinning sensation); feeling of weakness; thirst; dyspnoea (difficulty breathing); dry mouth; indigestion; itching; cold sores (oral herpes); fever; tinnitus (ringing in the ears); trouble sleeping; changes in blood tests showing kidney problems; increased levels of fat in the blood.

Not known: frequency cannot be estimated from the available data; palpitations (feeling of the heartbeat); tachycardia (rapid heartbeat); vomiting.

Side effects that may occur in children include:

Common: may affect up to 1 in 10 people: rhinitis (nasal irritation); allergic conjunctivitis of the eyes; headache; stomach pain (abdominal pain, upper abdominal pain).

Uncommon: may affect up to 1 in 100 people: eye irritation; dizziness; loss of consciousness; diarrhea; nausea; lip swelling; eczema; hives; tiredness.

Warnings and precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, cardiovascular disease and in elderly patients.

Store below 25°C, out of reach of children.

Use of other medications

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking or have recently taken.

Fexahist Allergy may interact with antacids containing aluminum and magnesium – a 2-hour interval between doses is recommended.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, this medicine should only be used if your doctor considers it absolutely necessary. Fexahist Allergy is not recommended for use during breastfeeding.

Use of the drug in children and adolescents

The efficacy and safety of fexofenadine 120 mg have not been studied in children under 12 years of age.

Driving and operating machinery

Fexahist Allergy is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience drowsiness or dizziness, you should exercise caution.
