Venofix A Venipuncture Best.21 G 0.8 mm 1 pc
Description
Venofix A venipuncture set for short infusions and blood sampling
Venofix A is a venipuncture set without a safety mechanism for short-term injection, infusion, transfusion, and blood collection. The needle is made of high-quality chrome-nickel steel with a 3-facet bevel and is siliconized, which ensures precise and gentle puncture. The kink-resistant, transparent PVC puncture cannula is 30 cm long and is latex- and DEHP-free, making it particularly suitable for individuals with latex sensitivities. Large, soft wings with interlocking grooves facilitate gripping and guiding the set during venipuncture. Color-coded wings according to DIN EN ISO 6009 with size markings allow for selection of various gauge sizes. The Luer-lock connector according to DIN EN ISO 80369-7 with a transparent locking cone enables connection to suitable blood collection accessories or infusion systems.
Application and handling
Before use, the puncture site is disinfected according to in-house guidelines. The packaging is then opened at the top peel tab, and Venofix A is removed. The elasticity of the coiled tubing can be reduced by smoothing it between the thumb and forefinger. To prepare for venting, the locking cap at the end of the tubing is unscrewed a quarter turn. After removing the protective cap, a suitable vein is punctured, holding the cannula by its folded wings. Blood entering the tubing base confirms successful puncture. Venting is then completed by closing the locking cap. For fixation, the cannula with its wings folded down and the tubing are secured to the skin with adhesive tape in the form of a strain relief loop. After removing the locking cap, the tubing is connected to the blood collection equipment or the prepared infusion system. Once the application is complete, the fixation is released, the cannula is removed, and it is immediately disposed of in an approved container.
Special notes
Alternatively, during a short infusion, the venipuncture set can be vented retrogradely by connecting it to the prepared infusion system before venipuncture. Venofix A is available in various color-coded sizes (e.g., 27G, 25G, 23G, 21G, 19G), each with a defined flow rate. It should be used in accordance with applicable standards and in-house guidelines. If you have any questions, please contact your doctor's office or pharmacy.
