Vet-Test, Immunodeficiency and Leukemia

A plate-based test designed to detect antibodies against feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and feline leukemia virus (FeLV) antigens. The test is performed on a blood sample.
The result can be read after 5 minutes.

Product purpose

Diagnostic test to be performed using the in vitro method.

The indications for performing the test are:

• contact with an infected individual,
• adopting a cat from a shelter or foundation,
• adopting a cat from the street,
• adopting a cat from a random litter,
• preventively.

Symptoms that should prompt you to take the test:

• general weakness of the pet,
• chronically enlarged lymph nodes,
• inflammatory changes, e.g. in the oral cavity,
• recurrent infections,
• neurological disorders,
• fever,
• lack of appetite,
• progressive weight loss,
• poor condition of the coat,
• slower recovery process in other diseases,
• anemia leading to pale gums,
• skin or upper respiratory tract infections,
• gastrointestinal symptoms.

Product characteristics

Vet-Test detects the FIV virus ( Feline Immunodeficiency Virus ), which causes acquired immune deficiency in cats, and FeLV ( Feline Leukemia Virus ), which causes leukemia. This test allows for a quick and easy initial diagnosis. Most importantly, a small blood sample is all it takes. The home test does not add any stress to your pet and is suitable for cats of all ages.

Product use

1. Before performing the test, all its components must be prepared.
2. Put on the gloves included in the kit.
3. Massage the planned injection site to facilitate blood collection.
4. Puncture the site with a sterile lancet.
5. Collect the sample using a sterile capillary.
6. Insert the obtained sample into both places in the cassette.
7. Wait 5 minutes and then read the result.

NOTE! Do not interpret results after 15 minutes!

Notes and precautions

As with any home test, Vet-Test results should not be used solely to make treatment decisions. All results should be interpreted by a veterinarian with all clinical information available, who will then implement appropriate treatment.
