Astar 3D

Astar 3D is available in the form of soft capsules, packaged in bottles of 60 units. This pharmaceutical form ensures effective absorption of fat-soluble active ingredients, such as carotenoids and vitamin D3, and allows for easy and precise administration.

Astar 3D is indicated as an adjunct in:

• Prevention of age-related macular degeneration, especially in people at high risk (the elderly, smokers, people with prolonged exposure to UV radiation or blue light);
• Slowing the progression of already established macular degeneration;
• Supporting visual function by maintaining optimal macular pigment;
• Protecting the eye against oxidative stress induced by free radicals;
• Improving contrast sensitivity and central visual acuity.

The recommended dose is 1 capsule per day, preferably with a meal, to optimise the absorption of carotenoids.

It is recommended to strictly adhere to the daily dose and not exceed it unless medically indicated.

Astar 3D is not recommended in the following situations:

• Known hypersensitivity to any of the product's ingredients;
• People with hypervitaminosis D or calcium metabolism disorders;
• Concomitant use with other supplements or medicines containing significant amounts of fat-soluble vitamins (D3, E) without medical supervision.

The product is not intended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age without prior medical advice.

As Astar 3D is a dietary supplement and not a medicine, its use should be integrated into a healthy lifestyle based on a balanced diet and regular eye health checks.

Long-term administration is necessary to achieve visible results in maintaining macular pigment density. Patients should also be informed that the effects of the supplement are preventive and adjuvant, not curative.

Astar 3D is generally well tolerated. In rare cases, the following may occur:

• Mild gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, abdominal discomfort);
• Skin allergic reactions (rash, itching) in sensitive individuals;

If persistent or unusual side effects occur, administration should be discontinued and medical advice sought.

Astar 3D may interact with some medicines, such as:

• Metal chelators (e.g. penicillamine) – may affect the absorption of zinc and copper;
• Some antibiotics (tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones)

Fatty foods may promote the absorption of carotenoids and fat-soluble vitamins, which is why it is recommended to take it with meals.

No cases of overdose with Astar 3D have been reported. However, excessive consumption, above the recommended dose, over a long period of time, may lead to:

• Hypervitaminosis D (with possible symptoms of hypercalcaemia: nausea, fatigue, polyuria);
• Carotenodermia (yellow-orange discolouration of the skin), benign and reversible.

In case of suspected overdose, it is recommended to discontinue administration and seek medical advice.

The product should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct light, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, in the original packaging, tightly closed. Keep out of the reach and sight of small children. Compliance with storage conditions is essential to maintain the stability of the active ingredients, especially carotenoids and vitamins sensitive to light and heat.
