Calmex

Calmex VetPlus is available in several forms tailored to different species and the needs of pets – tablets, capsules, liquid solution or diffuser.

For dogs, the product is available as Calmex tablets, packaged in blister packs of 10 or 60 tablets. 

For cats, Calmex is available in liquid form – Calmex Cat, in a 60 ml bottle, making it easier to administer to animals that do not tolerate tablets.

Calmex for dogs and cats is recommended for the management of stress and anxiety in dogs and cats, particularly in situations where animals are exposed to stimuli or environmental changes that may cause undesirable behavioural reactions.

Among the most common indications are fear of loud noises, such as fireworks or storms, separation anxiety, moving to a new home, introducing a new pet into the household, or travelling. 

Calmex diffuser for cats and dogs can be used as an adjunct in the management of behavioural problems, including separation anxiety or reactions to loud noises.

Administration of Calmex VetPlus should be adjusted according to the animal’s weight and the form of presentation used.

For dogs, the recommended dose is:

• under 10 kg: 1 tablet per day;
• between 10 and 20 kg: 2 tablets per day;
• between 20 and 30 kg: 3 tablets per day.

For cats, Calmex Cat is administered once a day as follows:

• cats ≤ 4.5 kg: 2 ml per day;
• cats > 4.5 kg: 4 ml per day.

There are no known specific contraindications for the use of Calmex in cats and dogs. However, it should be administered with caution to animals with known hypersensitivity to any of the formula’s components.

In the case of animals with severe neurological, hepatic or metabolic disorders, it is recommended to consult a vet before using the supplement.

Calmex for dogs and cats can be used both in acute stress situations and over longer periods, particularly when combined with behavioural therapies aimed at managing anxiety.

In the case of the Calmex diffuser, it is important that the device is used exclusively with the dedicated refills to avoid risks of toxicity or fire.

No significant adverse effects associated with the use of Calmex dogs and cats have been reported. Its formula is considered safe for use in dogs and cats when administered at the recommended doses.

However, should any unusual or severe reactions occur, it is recommended that administration be discontinued and a vet consulted.

There are no known significant interactions between Calmex and other medicines or food. The supplement may be used as an adjunct in behavioural management programmes.

However, in the event of concurrent administration with veterinary sedatives or anxiolytics, assessment by a vet is recommended to avoid potential cumulative effects.

No documented cases of overdose with Calmex cat and dog have been reported. However, administration of doses significantly higher than those recommended may cause mild digestive disturbances or temporary behavioural changes.

In the event of accidental ingestion of a large quantity of the product, it is advisable to monitor the animal and consult a vet.

Calmex dog and cat should be stored in a dry place, protected from moisture and direct sunlight, at temperatures up to 25°C. The products should be kept in their original packaging and kept out of the reach of children and animals.
