IntimoHelp
Description IntimoHelp
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.co.uk team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
IntimoHelp, produced by Zdrovit, aims to restore and maintain the natural balance of the vaginal flora without causing microbial resistance. These products are based on a mechanism of action that simulates the body's natural functioning by restoring the physiological pH and providing the necessary nutrient substrate for the development of lactobacilli.
Comparative clinical studies have shown that treatment with Intimohelp can be as effective as conventional antibiotics in relieving the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis, while offering the significant advantage of no adverse effects associated with antibiotic therapy and a reduced risk of developing bacterial resistance.
Forms of release
Zdrovit IntimoHelp for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis is marketed as a gel in a pack containing 7 pre-filled single-use applicators, each with a volume of 5 ml.
The gel formulation allows for even distribution of the active substances over the entire surface of the vaginal mucosa, thus ensuring prolonged contact and effective action. Its fluid consistency facilitates application and minimises discomfort during administration.
Indications for use
IntimoHelp is indicated in the following clinical or prophylactic situations:
- Treatment of confirmed bacterial vaginosis, with or without obvious symptoms.
- Elimination of unusual vaginal discharge, unpleasant odours and local discomfort.
- Restoration of the balance of the vaginal microflora after antimicrobial or antifungal treatments or following episodes of stress, hormonal changes or aggressive intimate hygiene.
- Prevention of recurrence in patients with a history of recurrent bacterial vaginosis.
- Support for vaginal balance during perimenopause, during antibiotic treatment or after the use of intravaginal contraceptives.
Dosage
IntimoHelp should be administered according to specific protocols depending on the therapeutic purpose:
For the treatment of bacterial vaginosis (curative regimen): use 1 applicator (5 ml) intravaginally daily, preferably in the evening before bedtime, for 7 consecutive days
For the prevention of recurrence (prophylactic regimen): if symptoms reappear or an imbalance in the vaginal flora is suspected, it is recommended to repeat the treatment with 1 applicator per day for 7 days.
Contraindications
IntimoHelp medical devices have an excellent safety profile, with contraindications limited to:
- Known hypersensitivity to any of the product's components, especially lactic acid or the excipients used in the formulation
- Active vaginal lesions such as ulcers, open wounds or severe erosion of the vaginal mucosa, where application of the product could exacerbate local irritation
Special instructions for use
Use with clean hands and under strict hygienic conditions. Do not use with other vaginal products unless explicitly prescribed.
It should preferably be applied in the evening to allow the product to act overnight.
The product has no contraceptive effect and does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases.

- Mild local burning sensation or discomfort upon application (especially in the presence of irritated mucosa)
- Itching or local irritation in people with hypersensitivity
- In very rare cases, local allergic reactions (e.g. erythema, swelling, feeling of warmth)

In case of vaginal hormone treatments, IntimoHelp should be administered at least 6–8 hours apart.
Overdose
No cases of overdose with IntimoHelp have been reported, as the product has minimal or no systemic absorption. However, excessive or inappropriate use may lead to:
- Imbalance of the vaginal flora (by altering the pH)
- Local irritation or dryness
- Long-term disturbances of the vaginal ecosystem if used without the necessary breaks
