Description MeliLax
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.co.uk team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
MeliLax is a honey-based medical device (micro-enema) indicated for the treatment of constipation associated with evacuation disorders, even in the presence of visceral hypersensitivity (such as in irritable bowel syndrome), haemorrhoids and anal fissures. MeliLax reduces irritation, inflammation and discomfort without irritating the intestine in cases of constipation, and has a protective action. Thanks to its mucus-like properties, it also protects and soothes the rectal mucosa during the passage of faeces. It can be used by people with coeliac disease as it does not contain gluten.
How is MeliLax administered?
Adults
1 micro-enema of 10 g as needed; if constipation persists, it is recommended to apply 2 doses consecutively.
Children
- Infants 0-1 years: - ½ micro-enema of 5g as needed;
- Children 1-3 years: - 1 micro-enema of 5g as needed;
- Children 3-12 years: - 1 micro-enema of 5g as needed; in case of persistent constipation, apply 2 doses consecutively.
Apply a few drops to the perianal area, then gently insert the cannula into the rectum. Keep the micro-enema pressed down until it is empty. To avoid aspirating the product, keep the cannula pressed down until it is completely withdrawn.
