Pycnogenol is an antioxidant extracted from the bark of a Mediterranean tree, specifically the bark of the maritime pine. Pycnogenol is used to relieve symptoms and treat people with bronchial asthma, allergies, allergic rhinitis (hay fever) or other health conditions.
Does Pycnogenol have benefits?
Known for its antioxidant properties, Pycnogenol offers a wide range of potential health benefits. What warnings and contraindications does Pycnogenol have?
As Pycnogenol is a dietary supplement, there are not enough studies to analyse possible interactions with other medications or certain medical conditions.
If you suffer from asthma or high blood pressure, it is recommended that you consult your doctor before starting treatment with Pycnogenol.
As Pycnogenol is an immune system stimulant, caution is advised when taking it if you have an autoimmune disease. You may notice a worsening of your symptoms after taking Pycnogenol. Consult your doctor before using Pycnogenol.
Due to its vasodilatory properties, discontinue Pycnogenol at least two weeks prior to any surgical procedure.
How is Pycnogenol administered?
