DIRECTIONS FOR USE It is recommended to take 1 capsule a day with or after food and with some type of drink. PROfertil® should be taken for a minimum of three months to optimize each phase of spermatogenesis. However, it can and should continue to be taken until pregnancy occurs. CAUSES OF MALE STERILITY The causes of male sterility are mainly related to poor semen quality, understood as a decrease in the concentration, mobility and morphology of the sperm it contains. The alteration of any seminal parameter cannot be considered alone as a diagnosis of any type of dysfunction. This is a warning sign, and for this reason, a specialist evaluation of the man by an andrologist is essential. The andrologist will be responsible for diagnosing the integrity and function of the male reproductive system (assessing its anatomical, endocrine, genetic, and functional integrity) based on a medical history, a physical examination, semen analysis, and requesting additional tests. They will also prescribe or propose appropriate treatments based on the particular situation of each case. There are also structural and functional alterations (genetic, chromosomal, or biochemical) in sperm that cannot be visualized in a semen analysis but can be detected during IVF. Finally, it should be noted that there are also male causes of infertility unrelated to semen quality, although these are less common. An example would be those pathologies that prevent proper semen deposit in the vagina (retrograde ejaculation, hypospadias, erectile dysfunction, etc.).
