Cocoa beans are the seeds of the cocoa tree, a small green tree that grows in tropical regions. The first cocoa beans to arrive on European soil came from Mexico. The recipe for cocoa drink has remained a secret for over 100 years. It is very rich in nutrients and phytonutrients. Cocoa has long been underestimated because of the fats and sugars contained in processed cocoa, i.e. chocolate. Cocoa flavonols help maintain endothelium-dependent vasodilation and promote healthy blood circulation. This effect is achieved with a daily intake of 200 mg of cocoa flavonols.
