Properties:
Silymarin or armory (known under the names of Silybum marianum or Milk Thistle), is a plant originating in Asia and the southern part of Europe, currently cultivated all over the globe. Numerous studies have shown the effectiveness of silymarin in protecting the liver, being successfully used in the prevention and relief of symptoms due to liver diseases, cirrhosis or in the case of medication with hepatotoxic effects.
Silymarin is perhaps the most well-known nutritional supplement used to maintain the health of the liver, being at the same time a product with antioxidant properties (it stimulates glutathione production in the body).
