Amla is a product obtained from the fruit of the Emblica Officinalis tree, also known as Indian gooseberry, an edible fruit extremely rich in vitamin C. In Ayurvedic medicine, both the fruit and all other parts of the plant are widely used. The product does not contain allergens.
What does Amla contain?
Amla is rich in phytonutrients, which are compounds with antioxidant properties that fight free radicals. Free radicals oxidise cells and contribute to the development of chronic diseases. Amalaki are rich in corilagin, gallic acid and quercetin, substances that are responsible for some of the benefits offered by these fruits.
How does Amla work?
Amla slows down the absorption of sugar into the circulatory system and can prevent fluctuations in blood glucose levels. Amla has been shown to prevent increases in blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of diabetes complications such as kidney damage or nerve damage due to uncontrolled blood sugar levels.
What are the benefits of Amla?
Amla supports liver health, has anti-cancer properties, reduces cholesterol levels and controls blood sugar levels.
In addition, it reduces inflammation, prevents constipation, maintains healthy hair and skin, supports cognitive function and improves digestive health.
How should Amla be taken?
It is recommended to take 1 capsule three times a day.
What is Amla powder?
Amla powder is obtained from the fruit of a tree that contains 20 times more vitamin C than oranges and is very well absorbed. In cosmetics, the fresh or dried fruit is used, ground into a fine powder. It has benefits for the hair and scalp: it is nourishing and conditioning, provides volume and vigour, prevents some scalp infections, promotes hair growth by stimulating the hair root and controls premature greying. For the skin, it is astringent, purifying, vitaminising and toning.
Amla can intensify the shade of neutral henna (cassia), tone down red when combined with red henna to achieve a cooler shade, or be used with shikakai to condition and cleanse the hair. It is not recommended to combine it with black henna (indigo), as its effect is reduced by the acidic environment.
In the form of a mask, applied regularly, it darkens blonde or light brown hair.
