Diardep

Diardep is available in the form of sachets containing powder to be dissolved in water, each sachet containing a carefully measured combination of active ingredients of plant origin (blueberry, marshmallow, great burdock, chamomile, mint).

Diardep sachets facilitate easy administration, including in children, and allow rapid absorption of bioactive substances.

Diardep is recommended for the prevention and treatment of diarrhoea occurring in the following aetiological contexts:

• Viral infections of the digestive tract
• Unhealthy eating habits, including consumption of spoiled or hard-to-digest foods
• Psychological stress, which can induce functional digestive disorders
• Food intolerances, especially to lactose or gluten
• Antibiotic treatment, which alters the intestinal microbiota
• Inflammatory or irritative digestive disorders

Diardep aims to reduce inflammation of the intestinal mucosa and exudate, as well as to reduce water and electrolyte loss, while also providing a calming effect on spasms and abdominal discomfort.

Thanks to its content of standardised extracts from medicinal plants known for their astringent, anti-inflammatory and spasmolytic effects, Diardep helps restore intestinal function and improve the quality of life of patients suffering from digestive imbalances.

The recommended dosage varies according to age and severity of symptoms:

• Children 6 months – 1 year: 1–2 sachets per day, only on medical advice
• Children 1 – 6 years: 1 sachet every 4 hours, maximum 3 sachets per day
• Children 6 – 12 years: 1 sachet every 3 hours, maximum 4 sachets per day
• Adults: 2 sachets every 6 hours, maximum 4 sachets per day

The contents of one sachet should be dissolved in approximately 10 ml of water and administered in drops, with a spoon or using a dosing syringe, depending on the patient's preferences and ability to cooperate.

The use of Diardep is contraindicated in the following situations:

• Known hypersensitivity to any of the product's components, especially plants of the Asteraceae family (chamomile)
• Intestinal obstruction or paralytic ileus
• In infants under 6 months of age, without prior medical advice

Diardep is intended for short-term use. If there is no obvious improvement within a few days or if severe symptoms occur (electrolyte imbalance, dehydration, high fever), seek medical advice immediately.

Administration of the product should be accompanied by adequate hydration and, if necessary, electrolyte rebalancing.

In general, Diardep is well tolerated due to its natural composition. However, in isolated cases, the following may occur:

• Skin allergic reactions (itching, rash, hives)
• Mild digestive disorders (nausea, bloating)
• Due to its sweetener content (fructose, stevia), excessive consumption may have a laxative effect.

No significant interactions with other medicines have been reported. However, it is recommended to take it at least 1–2 hours apart from oral medicines absorbed in the intestine to avoid reducing their effectiveness.

There are no data to suggest severe toxicity in case of accidental overdose. However, excessive consumption may lead to:

• Marked laxative effect
• Electrolyte imbalances, especially in young children

In such situations, it is recommended to stop administration and rebalance fluids under medical supervision.

Store at room temperature in the original packaging, away from moisture and direct light. Keep out of the reach of small children. The product should preferably be consumed before the date indicated on the packaging.
