Mistletoe

Triterpene saponosides, beta-amarine and derivatives of oleanolic acid, alpha and beta viscol, amines (choline and acetylcholine), beta-phenylmethylamine, free amino acids, inositol, fatty substances consisting of oleic, linoleic and palmitic acids, vitamins C and E, mucilage, glycosides (siringin), quercetin, sugars, viscotoxin (a polypeptide that is inactivated by heating and hydrolysis), viscic acid, a polysaccharide with antitumour activity, mineral salts, etc.

Mistletoe-based products have a bradycardic effect (lowering the heart rate below normal) and an immediate and long-lasting hypotensive effect. Mistletoe supports cardiac function, contributes to vascular health, helps microcirculation trophism, improving permeability and capillary microcirculation, and helps control lipid metabolism (cholesterol and triglycerides).

Abroad, mistletoe-based products such as Iscador have been developed in the form of injections for post-operative treatment or in the treatment of inoperable tumours or after cobalt therapy.

All products should only be used under medical supervision.

Cardiotoxic compounds that cause damage to the heart muscle have been isolated from mistletoe.

Mistletoe is not recommended for people who are hypersensitive to this plant and is not recommended for pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers.

It is recommended to prepare a cold macerate, made from 3 teaspoons of chopped plant in 1/2 litre of water; leave to infuse for 10 hours; filter, sweeten preferably with honey, and drink the entire amount gradually throughout the day.

It can be consumed in powder form: 2-3 knife tips in 24 hours.

It is also included in the composition of the phytotherapeutic product Hipotens — Plantavorel Piatra-Neamț.

Mistletoe, in capsule form, is a dietary supplement recommended for conditions such as hypertension/fluctuating blood pressure, glandular disorders, vascular disorders, tumours, arthrosis, spastic and convulsive cough, deformed spondylosis, etc., effectively contributing to the normalisation of blood circulation, better functioning of the endocrine system, normalisation of cardiac and pancreatic functions and blood pressure. It supports the cleansing of blood vessels, promotes relaxation, rest and healthy sleep, has an anti-inflammatory effect and energises the entire body, reduces pulse rate, bleeding and haemorrhaging, and protects against the harmful effects of free radicals.

Take 1 capsule 3 times a day.

Method of administration PLE Mistletoe extract: Adults - generally 1-2 ml in a little water, once a day before meals.

1 ml = approx. 25 drops

The duration of administration varies between 1 and 3 months. Administration may be repeated after a break of 1 or 2 months.
