DescriptionKeratolytic ointment containing 30% salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a fat-soluble substance that mixes with the lipids in the stratum corneum and the sebaceous glands of the hair follicles, effectively eliminating them. Salicylic acid can also modify desmosomes (intercellular junctions of corneocytes), reducing cell cohesion and resulting in an exfoliating effect. Therefore, it has keratolytic and comedolytic properties. In addition, due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, it has anti-inflammatory properties.
