Its creator was delighted with the story of the great love of Shah Jahan and the beautiful Mamtaz Mahal. After her death, the ruler ordered a white marble mausoleum to be built in the large garden, today considered one of the greatest buildings in the world. The word Shalimar comes from Sanskrit. This is the name of the mythical garden - the temple of love. It is on its paths that Jahan walks with his beloved Mahal.
