What is superoxide dismutase?

Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is an oxidoreductase enzyme. ^Labs212® uses ^TetraSOD® – an advanced formula based on a natural source of this enzyme, distinguished by its exceptionally high biological activity.

TetraSOD ^® is an innovative ingredient derived from dried Tetraselmis chuii microalgae, cultivated in patented closed bioreactor technology. This technology enables controlled growth conditions and induces the accumulation of bioactive compounds, including superoxide dismutase (SOD).

Importantly, TetraSOD ^® is not a classic extract. This ingredient is made from whole, single-cell microorganisms, which are then freeze-dried (gently dried by freezing). This allows the microalgae cell to act as a natural microcapsule, effectively protecting the enzymes contained within from oxidation and degradation.
