Borax glycerine can be used on the advice of a doctor for medical conditions such as gingivitis, oral candidiasis, stomatitis and mouth ulcers. It usually contains 10% borax and glycerine.
Forms of release
Borax glycerine is usually available in 20-25 g bottles – 10% borax glycerine. There is also a version of borax glycerine with 1.5% nystatin, borax glycerine with 10% anaesthesin or borax glycerine with propolis.
Indications for use
Glycerine is a natural compound that can be obtained from animal fats or vegetable oils, such as palm oil, coconut oil or soybean oil. It can also be produced synthetically. Borax glycerine acts as a disinfectant, antimycotic, antiseptic and mild anaesthetic. It is mainly used for stomatitis and mouth ulcers.
Dosage and administration
Borax glycerine is used externally, in the form of swabs applied to the oral mucosa or gums. Do not consume liquids or food for at least half an hour after use.
Contraindications
There are also some contraindications for borax glycerine. The product is contraindicated in case of allergy or sensitivity to any of the ingredients.

There are no known interactions with other medicines or foods.
Side effects
Borax glycerine for mouth ulcers is generally safe and no adverse reactions are known.
Overdose
There are no known risks associated with overdose. However, it is best to use as recommended by your doctor or pharmacist.
