ACTION AND DESCRIPTIONIt is indicated for the prevention and treatment of stage I and II pressure ulcers.The hyperoxygenated fatty acids that make up its formulation, obtained by a particular hyperoxygenation process: promote the renewal of epidermal cells, improving skin resistance and facilitating healing; restores the hydrolipidic film, preventing skin dehydration; creates an antimicrobial barrier that protects the ulcerated area from external agents and improves blood microcirculation; prevents damage caused by an increase in free radicals, thanks to its antioxidant activity. It also contains Equisetum arvense, familiarly known as Horsetail, which improves skin elasticity and tone, while Hypericum perforatum (or St. John's Wort) prevents and normalizes erythema and has a soothing and dermoprotective activity. LATEX ALLERGYDoes not contain latexCOMPOSITIONHyperoxygenated fatty acids, Equisetum arvense, Hypericum perforatum, Perfume.INSTRUCTIONS FOR USEPrevention and Treatment of Stage I Pressure Ulcers: After carrying out the usual cleaning procedures, apply Mepentol 2 or 3 times a day to the areas at risk or affected by the ulcer, spreading the product with your fingertips. The use of gloves is recommended for this operation.Treatment of Stage II Pressure Ulcers: After carrying out the usual cleaning procedures, apply Mepentol directly to the ulcer, or spray it onto a sterile gauze, which is then applied to the ulcer. Cover the ulcer with a suitable bandage. Repeat the application 2 or 3 times a day until complete healing. For this operation, the use of gloves is recommended. PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS Healthcare personnel or caregivers who apply Mepentol must adopt the minimum standards and precautions of a healthcare facility (for example, the use of gloves).
