DeVit 500

The product is available in the form of soft capsules or oil suspension, offering convenient alternatives tailored to the needs of different age groups.

Impruvis D3Vit soft capsules, 60 soft capsules, each containing 50 µg (2000 IU) of cholecalciferol, carried in refined sunflower oil and MCT (medium-chain triglycerides).

The sublingual spray is available in a 20 ml bottle and provides up to 400 sprays, each delivering 12.5 µg (500 IU) of vitamin D3 based on MCT from palm oil. The formula is free from sugar, sweeteners, colourings, lactose, gluten, casein and flavourings, making it ideal for use from birth.

Vitamin D supplementation is recommended in the following situations:

• Prevention and treatment of vitamin D deficiency, identified by low serum levels of 25-hydroxycolecalciferol.
• Supporting immune function in people with compromised immunity or at high risk of viral and bacterial infections.
• Maintenance of bone and dental health, especially during periods of rapid growth (infants, children, adolescents) and in the elderly.
• Accompanying post-fracture recovery therapy or as part of osteoporosis prevention.
• Supporting muscle function in people with hypotonia or at risk of falling.

For soft capsules, adults and children over 12 years of age should take 1 capsule per day or as recommended by a specialist.

The dosage for the sublingual spray depends on the age of the user.

• Newborns and infants (0–12 months): 1–2 sprays/day (500–1,000 IU)
• Children 3–6 years: 2–3 sprays/day (1,000–1,500 IU)
• Children 6–12 years: 2–3 sprays/day (1,000–1,500 IU)
• Adolescents and adults (> 12 years): 3–4 sprays/day (1,500–2,000 IU)

The daily dose should not be exceeded without medical advice, and administration may be adjusted depending on the serum concentration of 25-hydroxycolecalciferol and the doctor's recommendations.

The use of DeVit 500 is contraindicated in certain pathological conditions:

• Untreated hypercalcaemia and hypercalciuria, as supplementation may aggravate elevated blood calcium levels.
• Known hypersensitivity to cholecalciferol or any of the excipients (sunflower oil, bovine gelatin, MCT).

The sublingual form of DeVit 500 ensures rapid and efficient absorption through the oral mucosa, avoiding degradation in the gastrointestinal tract and potential interactions with gastric contents.

Sublingual application allows direct transport into the bloodstream through the sublingual plexus and the richly vascularised vessels of the oral cavity, increasing the bioavailability of cholecalciferol.

In general, vitamin D3 is well tolerated when administered at recommended doses. In rare cases and with prolonged overdose, the following may occur:

• Nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhoea
• Headache, asthenia, non-specific fatigue
• Tissue calcifications in case of prolonged exposure to excessive levels of vitamin D

If any of the above symptoms occur, only take the supplement after your doctor has reassessed your nutritional and biochemical status.

Vitamin D may interact with certain medicines such as statins, digoxin, diuretics or calcium channel blockers.

It is recommended that you inform your doctor about any other medicines you are taking to prevent possible interactions.

Prolonged exposure to high doses (over 10,000 IU/day) may induce hypercalcaemia and hypercalciuria, manifested by excessive thirst, polyuria, headache, tissue calcifications and secondary hypertension.

In case of acute overdose, stop administration and seek emergency medical assistance.

Store at room temperature (15–25 °C) in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the product out of the reach and sight of small children to prevent accidental ingestion. Observe the expiry date stated on the packaging.
