Emofix

Emofix is available as an ointment, packaged in a 30 g tube, which includes a cannula-type applicator for precise application to the affected areas.

This type of applicator facilitates local administration, especially in cases of nosebleeds where direct access to the affected area is essential.

Emofix is indicated for:

• Anterior epistaxis (nosebleeds), both to stop acute bleeding and to prevent recurrent episodes of epistaxis
• Prevention of post nasal tamponade epistaxis, helping to reduce the risk of recurrence after nasal tamponade procedures
• Mild Rendu-Osler's disease, a condition characterized by mild bleeding, which can be controlled with haemostatic ointment
• Bleeding gums, to stop localized bleeding in the gums.

Emofix contains a combination of active ingredients that contribute to its hemostatic efficacy: saturated fatty acids, vegetable collagen, phosphatidylcholine, mineral salts (Ca, Mg, K) and vitamin E with antioxidant effects.

Emofix is applied twice a day, using the cannula applicator, to each nostril or bleeding area.

It is important that the ointment is applied carefully to prevent contamination of the applicator and to ensure even coverage of the affected area.

Emofix should not be used by people who have known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of its ingredients.

It is also contraindicated in cases of severe infections or conditions involving a serious haemostasis disorder.

In the event of damage to the packaging or if the product has passed its expiry date, it should not be used.

Important! It is important that the applicator is thoroughly cleaned after each use and not used by other persons to prevent contamination.

Emofix is usually well tolerated, but mild side effects may occur, such as:

• Slight burning sensation on application
• Nasal irritation or itching
• Temporary rhinorrhea

These symptoms are usually temporary and improve as the body gets used to the treatment. If symptoms persist or worsen, discontinue use and seek medical advice.

There are no known significant interactions between Emofix and other medicines or foods. However, it is advisable to consult your doctor before using Emofix if you are taking anticoagulant drugs or other treatments for blood disorders.

Because Emofix is applied topically, the risk of overdose is minimal. However, if applied in excessive amounts, local irritation or an allergic reaction may occur.

In such cases, discontinue use and consult a doctor.

Emofix should be stored at room temperature below 30°C to avoid changes in consistency.

It is essential that the product is stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of the reach of children. After each use, the tube must be hermetically sealed to prevent the product from drying out.
