Salix Extract is also known as vegetable aspirin forte. Thanks to its natural origin, Salix Extract is very well tolerated by the body and has increased bioavailability.
Salicin, found in willow bark, is the phytoprecursor of acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin).
What are the benefits of Salix?
Organic Aspirin is a natural product that effectively combats neuralgia and pain thanks to salicin, extracted from willow bark, and nettle extract. Willow extract with a 25% salicin content is effective in eliminating neuralgia, headaches and back pain. In addition, it fights infections and protects the cardiovascular system. Aspirin helps thin the blood, which prevents the formation of blood clots that can cause heart problems.
Nettle extract, which contains 4% polyphenols, effectively reduces inflammation and modulates the body's response to pain, having a calming effect.
Powder extracted from willow bark has been used since ancient times for its anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and fever-reducing effects.
How should Salix be taken?
It is recommended to take 1-2 capsules 4 times a day.
In tablet form, it is administered to adults and young people over 15 years of age: 1-2 tablets 3 times a day, and to children between 7 and 15 years of age: ½ to 1 tablet 2 times a day, 30 minutes before meals.
What are the contraindications for Salix?
This product is contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women and in people with allergies to salicylates/aspirin.
Use with caution in cases of blood clotting disorders, kidney or liver disease, diabetes, haemophilia, asthma, gastro-duodenal ulcer and when using lithium-containing medicines at the same time.
Do not give to children under 7 years of age.
When is treatment with Salix recommended?
Salix is recommended for people suffering from migraines, fever, cardiovascular disorders (stroke, heart attack, high blood pressure), menopausal disorders, and people suffering from stress and anxiety.
Salix tablets relieve muscle pain and are recommended for maintaining health and reducing inflammation in joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles, as well as for maintaining blood fluidity.
What are the side effects of Salix?
Consuming large doses of white willow bark extract can be dangerous, as too much salicin can contribute to a number of health problems in some patients, including bleeding disorders and kidney damage.
Other possible side effects may include digestive disorders and itchy skin. People who are prone to stomach problems, especially those caused by medication, should be cautious when using willow bark products.
People who have any of the following health conditions should avoid using white willow bark products: bleeding disorders (as willow bark slows blood clotting), kidney disease or kidney failure, sensitivity to aspirin/aspirin allergy, asthma, ulcers, diabetes, gout, haemophilia, liver disease.
Does willow interact with other medications?
Taking willow bark at the same time as aspirin, beta-blockers, diuretics or magnesium choline can increase the effects and contribute to side effects. Salix should also not be used with other medicines that slow down blood clotting (anticoagulants), as this increases the risk of uncontrolled bleeding.
