Supramax joints has a positive effect on cartilage as follows: it restores cartilage, strengthens joints and is beneficial in rheumatic conditions.

The bones of the joints are protected by a layer of cartilage that has a dual function: shock absorption and facilitating the sliding of joint surfaces during movement. Joint cartilage is made up of a network of collagen fibres, in the meshes of which are special molecules made up of proteins and glycosaminoglycans, which retain a large amount of water (more than 90%). Chondrocytes, which are cells that make up the structure of cartilage, constantly renew the substances that compose it. When the number or activity of chondrocytes decreases and there is no longer enough collagen and glycosaminoglycans, or when these substances are destroyed by the activity of certain enzymes, the balance between the formation and destruction of joint components is disrupted and the cartilage changes from a smooth and elastic structure to an irregular and rigid one. The result is impaired movement and the onset of joint dysfunction.
