Durex

Durex is a condom manufacturer with a history spanning almost a century. During this time, the company has made numerous achievements and innovations that have become the benchmark in the field of safe sex products. In the 1950s, they released the first lubricated condom and began testing their products for defects using electronics. In the 1970s, they were the first to start advertising condoms. In the 1990s, they combined national and international standards to create an improved global quality standard.

Durex is actively involved in social issues, conducting global research on sexuality, promoting safe sex and supporting UN initiatives in this area.

Durex, originally a British company, finally moved its production from the United Kingdom to East Asia in 2007, but the quality of its products remains unchanged. Two categories of products are manufactured under the brand:

• condoms;
• intimate gels and lubricants.

The integrity and strength of Durex condoms is ensured by strict quality control during production – in addition to electronic integrity testing, samples from each batch are inflated with air and filled with water to rule out the possibility of leakage. Condoms are also subject to mandatory dermatological testing.

When creating its product lines, Durex constantly consults with experts, scientists and medical centres and conducts numerous studies to improve its products.
