Askina Calgitrol Ag is a technologically advanced dressing that incorporates an effective ionic silver barrier with the absorption capabilities of calcium alginate and polyurethane foam.

The patented matrix of the Askina Calgitrol dressing combines calcium and silver alginates with 10% delimited water. in contact with the exudate, the alginate matrix forms a soft gel, allowing the release of silver ions and providing a moist environment favorable to natural healing.

Silver is available in ionic form on the entire surface of the dressing and does not require wetting and activation.

Silver is continuously released from the dressing: the concentration of silver ions is maintained for 7 days at the level of 60 ppm (the concentration required at the level of the wound to ensure effective antibacterial activity).
