TIAB ® – composed of silver ions and titanium dioxide

Due to the stabilization of silver ions (it binds to titanium dioxide), silver ions have a high antimicrobial activity.

Silver ions bind to the proteins of the bacterial structures, disrupt the function of the bacterial wall and thus get inside the cell, where they bind, for example, to its DNA and thus disrupt the further transmission of genetic information and therefore degrade the cell. It also reacts with mold in a similar way.

In the case of viruses, it also binds to proteins, or to viral DNA or RNA depending on the type of virus. It can be prevented like this, e.g. attachment of the virus to another healthy cell and thus limits its spread.
