- Licorice is a genus of perennial plants in the Fabaceae family. It includes 36 species. Licorice contains saponins and glycyrrhizin which is 50 times sweeter than table sugar but with a characteristic licorice flavor. The dried root can be a snack in itself. They are also often used to sweeten and color confectionery products. You surely remember from your childhood the characteristic dark candies or sweets or baked goods made from natural ingredients with a black color - this is probably due to licorice.

However, due to its medicinal properties, this plant is also used in medicine.

- Licorice root is recommended for gastrointestinal ailments. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, it regenerates the stomach lining, especially after food poisoning, but also in the case of ulcers or heartburn. In addition, it strengthens the immune system, helps fight small infections and prevents diseases.

- Licorice, thanks to its bactericidal properties, inhibits the development of Streptococcus mutans, which is responsible for the formation of dental caries.

- Zinc helps maintain normal vision and the immune system and also helps protect cells against oxidative stress. Also important is the impact of this element on the health of the skin, bones and mucous membranes, as well as its immunomodulatory effect used in the prevention and treatment of viral infections. It is a necessary trace element for the proper functioning of the human body. Since we do not have the possibility of endogenous synthesis of this microelement, we must ensure its adequate supply from the diet.

- Selenium is an element with an antioxidant effect, it protects the body's cells and tissues against damage caused by free radicals resulting from metabolic processes.
