LaxaNatur Naturalis is available as 20 easy-to-take film-coated tablets. 

Each film-coated tablet contains 200 mg of Cassia angustifolia (senna) extract, including 40 mg of senozide B.

Naturalis LaxaNatur is mainly indicated for the treatment of chronic or occasional constipation due to its mild laxative effects. The active compounds in senna leaves act on the intestinal mucosa, stimulating peristaltic contractions and accelerating the transit of feces. 

The main active compounds in senna leaves are known as senozides. Senosides cannot be absorbed in the digestive tract, but can be broken down by gut bacteria. 

This breakdown of the sinusoids stimulates bowel movement and thus produces a laxative effect.

The product can also be used to prepare the colon before diagnostic procedures such as colonoscopy. In such situations, the doses and duration of treatment are set by the doctor to ensure effective cleansing of the colon.

Adults and children over 12 years of age can take 1 film-coated tablet in the evening, as needed, before bedtime, with a sufficient amount of water.

In the case of elderly people, half a tablet should be taken to start with, and may be increased to one tablet after a few days of adjustment.

There are certain situations in which the use of LaxaNatur is contraindicated. These include:

• Hypersensitivity to senna or other components of the product
• Bowel obstruction or inflammatory bowel disease - ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease
• Severe dehydration or electrolyte imbalances - laxatives can make this worse
• Severe liver or kidney disease - a doctor's advice is needed before taking any food supplement

Important! LaxaNatur is a short-term remedy for constipation. You should not use it for more than 7 days in a row, unless clearly directed by your doctor.

It is important to emphasize that LaxaNatur can lead to laxative dependence and significant loss of electrolytes, especially potassium, if taken long-term.

Like any medicinal product, LaxaNatur can cause side effects, although these do not occur in all patients. 

Common side effects of senna extract in LaxaNatur include abdominal cramps, diarrhea and nausea.

More serious side effects, such as liver damage, can occur after long-term use.

Senna can interact with various medicines and foods.

• Diuretics - May amplify potassium loss from laxatives, increasing the risk of hypokalemia
• Antiarrhythmic drugs (digoxin) - can be affected by low potassium levels, increasing the risk of side effects
• Blood-thinning drugs (warfarin) - In some people, senna can cause diarrhea. Diarrhea can intensify the effect of warfarin and increase the risk of bleeding 
• Estrogen - Senna can reduce the amount of estrogen absorbed into the body.

In case of LaxaNatur overdose, patients may experience symptoms such as severe diarrhea, intense abdominal cramps and significant electrolyte imbalances.

It is essential in such situations to stop taking the product immediately and contact a doctor. Emergency treatment consists of rehydration and correction of electrolyte imbalances.

LaxaNatur should be stored at temperatures below 25°C, in a dry place away from direct light. It is important to keep it in its original packaging to protect it from moisture. It should also be kept out of reach of children.
