Sennalax contains dry extract of Senna fruit (20 mg hydroxyanthracene glycosides) which releases anthrachinone derivatives in the intestine under the influence of the intestinal microflora. These substances stimulate peristalsis (physiological propulsive movements of the small and large intestine) and, at the same time, modify the permeability of the intestinal mucosa, which leads to the extravasation of water and electrolytes into the intestine. Sennalax with buckthorn contains, in combination with Senna extract, hydroalcoholic dry extract from buckthorn bark (10 mg glucograngulin). Sennalax plus buckthorn is a more powerful intestinal transit accelerator than the simple version, combining the action of the two laxative substances. Sennalax with Aloe Vera contains Senna extract and 20 mg of Aloe Vera extract, which has antiseptic, disinfectant and anti-inflammatory properties. Sennalax plus charcoal – contains Senna extract and 100 mg of medicinal charcoal (activated charcoal), which is a porous substance that absorbs toxins and gases from the intestines, making it useful for patients suffering from abdominal bloating (flatulence).
