SiderAL is a supplement, while Maltofer is a medicine. Maltofer is available in chewable tablets and contains 100 mg of iron in the form of iron (III) hydroxide polymaltose complex. It is an iron-based anti-anaemic medicine combined with 0.35 mg of folic acid. It is recommended to take 1-3 tablets per day, depending on the level of iron deficiency.

Both supplements are recommended for normalising iron levels in the body and reducing fatigue and exhaustion. They are recommended in cases of anaemia, blood loss and for people following a vegetarian diet. Feroptim contains 28 mg of iron in the form of iron bisglycinate, along with 40 mg of vitamin C, 1.4 mg of vitamin B6, 400 µg of folic acid and vitamin B12.

Both formulas contain iron and vitamin C. Altrifer contains 30 mg of iron and 66 mg of vitamin C. It helps regulate iron levels in the body and is recommended in cases of iron deficiency. It is available in capsule form – take 1 capsule per day, during or immediately after a meal.

SiderAL is a dietary supplement that regulates iron deficiency in the body in cases of low intake or helps increase requirements (iron deficiency anaemia, acute or chronic bleeding).

Forms of release

SiderAL is available in the following forms:

SiderAL Folic, 20 sachets
SiderAL Active, 30 sachets
SiderAL Drops, 30 ml bottle + 1 sachet of 1.9 g

SiderAL supplements contain sucrosomial iron, which is a preparation containing iron pyrophosphate in a phospholipid matrix and sucrose. The entire structure is called Sucrosome and facilitates the transport and absorption of iron in the body. SiderAL contains 30 mg of iron and 70 mg of vitamin C, which promotes iron absorption. SiderAL Folic contains 21 mg of iron, 70 mg of vitamin C, 400 µg of folic acid, 10 µg of vitamin D3, 1.75 µg of vitamin B12 and 1 mg of vitamin B6. SiderAL Active contains 14 mg iron, 48 mg vitamin C, 1 mg vitamin B6, 150 µg folic acid and 2 µg vitamin B12. SiderAL drops for children contains 7 mg iron per 1 ml solution.

Indications for use

SiderAL is recommended in cases of iron deficiency and to supplement iron intake. It is recommended in cases of low haemoglobin, iron absorption problems or low serum iron levels. Low haemoglobin occurs when we do not consume enough iron-rich foods, but also in certain specific situations (pregnancy, breastfeeding, menstruation or during childhood). It can also be linked to certain iron absorption problems in the intestine. The same causes are responsible for iron deficiency.

Dosage and administration

The dosage of SiderAL is 1 capsule or 1 sachet per day or as directed by your doctor. It can be taken at any time of the day. SiderAL Folic and SiderAL Active sachets are administered directly into the mouth. In the case of SiderAL drops, 10 drops per day, equivalent to 1 ml of solution, are administered using the measuring pipette. The drops can be administered directly into the mouth or dissolved in a small amount of water or other liquid at room temperature.

Contraindications

These supplements are contraindicated in case of allergy or sensitivity to any of the product's ingredients. SiderAL should not be used in case of milk intolerance, as it contains milk proteins.

The product is generally safe and no adverse reactions are known.

Overdose

Take as directed and follow the prescribed doses to avoid any adverse effects.

Storage

Store the product at room temperature. SiderAL drops should be used within 1 month of preparation or reconstitution. The drop version contains a solution and a sachet that must be mixed and shaken, and then administered after reconstitution using the dosing pipette.
