Urgosorb Silver

Urgosorb ® is indicated for the local treatment of wound exudate and bleeding, in the slough and granulation stages.
Urgosorb corda ® is indicated in the local treatment of wound cavities.

How to use
-Clean the wound with saline solution.
-Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly with a sterile compress.
-If using an antiseptic for the first time, wash the wound thoroughly with saline before applying Urgosorb®.
-Choose the appropriate size of Urgosorb ® so as to leave at least 1 or 2 cm of the dressing covering the healthy skin around the wound.
-Apply Urgosorb ® directly to the wound.
-For deep or tunnel wounds (anfractuous pressure ulcers, pilonidal sinus), apply Urgosorb® cord liberally without applying any excessive pressure.
-Cover Urgosorb® with a secondary dressing: two layers of compresses and a slightly tight bandage or adhesive tape.
-Urgosorb ® should be changed when saturated, especially when exudate seeps through the secondary dressing.
-The frequency of renewal depends on the level of exudate: every day in case of highly exuding wounds or covered with fibrin-necrotic debris or infections;
-Every 2 days in case of a clean and moderately exuding wound.
-In case of leg ulcers, Urgosorb ® can be moistened with saline solution to facilitate removal.

Property
-On contact with exudate, Urgosorb® dressing gels and provides faster cleansing.
-Urgosorb® absorbs exudate from highly exuding wounds and maintains a moist environment that creates the conditions that favor the healing process.
-Urgosorb® absorbs only vertically, without any lateral migration of exudate. The surrounding skin is therefore respected and protected from any risk of maceration.
-Urgosorb gel ®, emollient and draining of necrotic debris during the slough and granulation phases of wet necrosis.
-Urgosorb ® can be removed easily, painlessly and in one go.
-Urgosorb®'s high conformability allows it to instantly adapt to the wound surface.
-Through platelet activation, Urgosorb ® dressing promotes primary hemostasis of acute and chronic bleeding wounds.

Contraindications
Urgosorb ® is contraindicated for endonasal rhino-sinusitis surgery, third-degree burns, surgical implants, and the control of severe bleeding.

-Incorporation of hydrocolloid particles (carboxymethyl cellulose) into a calcium alginate fiber network.
