Aquacel Extra

Aquacel Extra Hydrofiber dressing with reinforcing fibers is a soft, sterile, non-woven compress or tamponade made of sodium carboxymethylcellulose and regenerated cellulose fiber for reinforcement. This highly absorbent dressing draws up wound exudate and forms a soft gel. The gel keeps the wound moist and creates an optimal environment for wound healing. Aquacel supports the healing process and facilitates the removal of dead tissue from the wound (autolytic debridement) without damaging newly formed tissue.

Indications:
Under the supervision of medical professionals, the Aquacel Extra Hydrofiber dressing with reinforcing fibers can be used to treat:

• Leg ulcers, pressure ulcers (grade II - IV) and diabetic ulcers.
• Surgical wounds (e.g., postoperative wounds with secondary healing and split-thickness skin graft donor sites).
• Second-degree burns.
• Traumatic wounds, e.g. (lacerations, abrasions, cuts).
• Exudate absorption in oncological wounds (ulcerating skin tumors, skin metastases and Kaposi's sarcoma).

Contraindications:
Aquacel Extra Hydrofiber bandage with reinforcing fibers must not be used in persons with known hypersensitivity or allergies to this bandage or its components.
