Manuka honey comes from New Zealand and New Zealand only. It is in this magnificent, largely uncontaminated country that this honey is harvested. Manuka is a small shrub related to Melaleuca alternifolia, the Australian tea tree. The antimicrobial properties of tea tree are well known and its essential oil is widely used in aromatherapy.

Thanks to the flowers collected by bees, manuka produces a very special honey, both in terms of taste and its protective properties. Manuka honey contains a protective and antiseptic factor far superior to all other honeys.

This factor, known as UMF, ranges on a scale of 12 to 20 generally. The higher the UMF, the richer the Manuka honey in active ingredients. Manuka honey is mainly used for prevention and treatment, both internally and on the skin.
