Each Hartmann Cosmos ^® Abrasions patch contains a hydrocolloid layer that absorbs the exudate and turns it into a gel-like substance. Due to this, it provides adequate cushioning of the injured area and eliminates the feeling of friction and pressure. Unlike traditional plasters, which are based on the principle of wound healing in a dry environment, hydrocolloidal plaster is based on the mechanism of wound healing in a moist environment (occlusive properties).
