Shoyu comes from China and is already 2,800 years old. It gradually spread to Southeast Asia and is now a traditional part of Asian cuisine. But it has nothing to do with the usual cheap "soy sauce". Shoyu contains no flavor enhancers, artificial colors or sweeteners.
