Gel-forming fiber dressing

DracoHydrofiber is a gel-forming fiber dressing made of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC). Upon contact with wound exudate, DracoHydrofiber has a highly absorbent effect, supports wound healing, and promotes cleansing. The swelling of the fibers traps bacteria and cellular debris. Effective gelation prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound, allowing for virtually painless removal. Due to the fiber structure, exudate is absorbed vertically, reducing the risk of maceration. During dressing changes, DracoHydrofiber is removed in one piece using sterile forceps, and the wound is then irrigated. DracoHydrofiber is suitable for highly to moderately exuding, superficial or deep wounds and wound cavities, chronic wounds such as leg ulcers (venous, arterial, diabetic), pressure ulcers, split-thickness skin graft donor sites, and slightly bleeding acute wounds such as abrasions or lacerations. DracoHydrofiber can be applied beyond the wound edges, as the vertical absorption of exudate reduces the risk of maceration. The wound should then be covered with a suitable secondary dressing and secured with the preferred bandage material. Depending on the wound condition and amount of exudate, DracoHydrofiber can remain on non-infected wounds for up to 7 days.

Pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, venous leg ulcers, arterial leg ulcers, mixed leg ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome, secondary wound healing disorders, chronic wounds, iatrogenic wounds, split-thickness skin grafts.

Intact, not intact, fragile.

Wound stages:
Infection, necrosis, fibrin plaque, granulation.

Wound healing phases:
Exudation phase, granulation phase.

Up to 7 days.
