ENCYCLOPEDIC ATLAS OF THE WORLD is a one-of-a-kind work. They are distinguished by their impressive format: 285 x 375 mm, as well as their noble binding and CONTENT. This means that Atlas has no competition on the Polish market. Very detailed maps of individual parts of the world - developed on quite large scales - are accompanied by carefully selected photographs with captions providing additional information and descriptions characterizing the continents or their parts, including countries prepared by geographers. The reader has these three elements: maps, photos and comments in front of his eyes after opening the atlas on any "spread", i.e. two adjacent pages visible at the same time! Another advantage of the atlas is the extensive part with Poland, containing many maps on interesting topics, e.g. related to tourism. It is worth noting here that the nomenclature in the atlas is based on the original names written in the Latin alphabet, but wherever there was a scientific basis, Polish names were also added. Only Polish names appear on seas and oceans. A very interesting part is the encyclopedic appendix on countries, including internationally unrecognized ones and dependent territories, containing basic current socio-economic data and the history of the country. In turn, "The World in Numbers" provides the most important information about: the Solar System, planet Earth, including natural records and among man-made objects. The atlas ends with an extensive index of geographical names containing approximately 73,000. records.
