Fresenius Lactated Ringer's Solution contains salts, which are given by drip into a vein (intravenous infusion).
Fresenius Lactated Ringer's Solution is indicated:
- to replace water and salt (electrolytes) losses from the body, in patients with balanced acid-base metabolism and in mild metabolic acidosis (except lactic acidosis);
- for the short-term treatment of decreased blood volume in the body (hypovolemia), in case of loss of water and salts in the body (isotonic or hypotonic dehydration);
- for rehydration after treatment with colloids – drugs used to replace lost blood volume (colloid volume substitution)

Do not use Fresenius Lactated Ringer's Solution:
- if you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before using Fresenius Lactated Ringer's Solution.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility:
Fresenius Lactated Ringer's Solution should be administered with special care to pregnant women during labour, especially in terms of blood sodium, if it is administered together with oxytocin (a hormone that can be given to induce labour and control bleeding).

Fresenius Lactated Ringer's Solution can be administered during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if the water and salt balance, as well as the acid-base balance are kept under control and if your doctor considers this necessary.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

Driving and using machines:
There are no known effects of Fresenius Lactated Ringer's Solution on the ability to drive or use machines.

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

This medicine will be given to you by a drip into a vein (intravenous infusion) by your doctor or nurse. Your doctor will decide the dose you need, depending on your condition.

One ml of solution for infusion contains:
- The active substances are:
Sodium chloride: 6.00 mg
Sodium lactate solution (50%): 6.34 mg (equivalent to sodium lactate 3.17 mg)
Potassium chloride: 0.40 mg
Calcium chloride dihydrate: 0.27 mg
- The other ingredients are: water for injections, hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide.
