This medicine contains ibuprofen, which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which work to relieve pain and inflammation and reduce fever (lower high temperature).

Ibufen Baby 20 mg/ml oral suspension is used in children and infants aged 3 months and over for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever.

You should contact your doctor if your child does not feel better or you think they are feeling worse after 24 hours (in children aged 3-6 months) or 3 days (in children over 6 months).

Do not give Ibufen Baby 20 mg/ml oral suspension to your child if:
- your child is allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Before giving Ibufen Baby 20 mg/ml oral suspension to your child, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Pregnancy, lactation and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Task:
Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Ibufen Baby 20 mg/ml oral suspension.
Do not take Ibufen Baby 20 mg/ml oral suspension if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy, as it may harm your unborn baby or cause problems during delivery. It may cause kidney and heart problems in your unborn baby. It may affect your and your baby's tendency to bleed and may cause labour to be delayed or prolonged for longer than expected. You should not take Ibufen Baby 20 mg/ml oral suspension in the first 6 months of pregnancy unless absolutely necessary and recommended by your doctor. If you need treatment during this period or while you are trying to get pregnant, the lowest dose should be used for the shortest possible time. From the 20th week of pregnancy, if taken for more than a few days, Ibufen Baby 20 mg/ml oral suspension may cause kidney problems in your unborn baby, which may lead to low levels of amniotic fluid surrounding the baby (oligohydramnios) or narrowing of a blood vessel (ductus arteriosus) in the baby's heart. If you need treatment for more than a few days, your doctor may recommend additional monitoring.

Breastfeeding:
Only small amounts of ibuprofen and its metabolites pass into breast milk. Avoid using this medicine while breastfeeding unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

Fertility in women:
Ibufen Baby 20 mg/ml oral suspension belongs to a group of medicines (NSAIDs) that may impair fertility in women. This effect is reversible when the medicine is stopped. Avoid taking this medicine if you are trying to get pregnant.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicines.

Driving and using machines:
No effect on the ability to drive or use machines is anticipated when administered at the recommended dose for the recommended duration of treatment.

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Ibufen Baby 20 mg/ml oral suspension is for oral administration only.
You should use the lowest dose needed to relieve your symptoms for the shortest time possible. If you have an infection, see a doctor immediately if your symptoms (such as fever and pain) do not go away or get worse (see section 2).

Dosage:
The dose of ibuprofen varies depending on the child's body weight and age.
For children aged 3 months to 12 years, the recommended daily dose of ibuprofen is 20-30 mg per kg of body weight (1-1.5 ml per kg of body weight), administered in 3-4 divided doses.

- The active substance is ibuprofen. One millilitre of oral suspension contains 20 mg ibuprofen.
- The other ingredients are sodium benzoate (E211), anhydrous citric acid (E330), sodium citrate (E331), sodium saccharin (E954), sodium chloride, hypromellose 15 cP (E464), xanthan gum, liquid maltitol (E965), glycerol (E422), strawberry flavor (contains identical natural flavors, natural flavors, corn maltodextrin, triethyl citrate (E1505), propylene glycol (E1520) and benzyl alcohol), purified water.
