KAREX Tooth Protection Gel

Karex dental protection gel contains the tooth-related active ingredient BioHAP*. This stands for "Biomimetic Hydroxyapatite" – the substance our teeth are made of.

This highly concentrated gel supports caries prevention by forming a protective layer on the tooth. This layer makes it difficult for bacteria to adhere to the tooth, thus effectively protecting against cavities. The gel promotes the remineralization of tooth enamel with BioHAP* as a calcium source. Plaque and acidic foods leach calcium from tooth enamel. BioHAP* adheres to the tooth surfaces, allowing calcium to be redeposited into the enamel. This process is called remineralization. Due to its high degree of similarity to natural tooth mineral, BioHAP* even remineralizes deeper layers of the enamel. Because of its similarity to the body's own tooth mineral, BioHAP* is safe if swallowed and therefore suitable from the first tooth.

Xylitol : This ingredient also works against bacteria and plaque.

The effectiveness of BioHAP* in dental care has been proven in scientific studies.

Other areas of application:

In addition to caries prophylaxis after brushing your teeth, Karex Tooth Protection Gel is suitable for other applications, e.g. for:

• Patients with multiband therapy (brackets patients): Due to the orthodontic appliances, patients often have difficulties with complete plaque removal and therefore an increased risk of caries (white spot lesions).
• MIH (chalky teeth): Teeth with MIH (molar-incisor hypomineralization) do not have fully mineralized enamel. Additional, regular remineralization is important to protect the tooth and prevent sensitivity. BioHAP* adheres to the teeth and tooth necks, thus also helping with sensitive teeth.
• Tooth sensitivity: During a bleaching treatment, teeth are whitened with peroxides. This can result in sensitive teeth. Karex Tooth Protection Gel with BioHAP* reduces this sensitivity.
