LADROME Propolis and Echinacea gums have been specially designed to help soothe sore throats. The benefits of propolis have been known since the dawn of time. Propolis is a resinous substance that bees collect from the buds of some trees (especially birch, poplar, sage and various conifers). When cold, propolis is solid and crumbly. It becomes soft above 30° and melts at around 60°-70°. The color of Propolis varies from yellow to black and all shades of brown. Propolis has an aromatic odor that varies depending on its origin: it generally smells of honey or wax, to which other odors are added depending on the origin of the buds visited. Bees mix the resin collected from the buds with their salivary secretion, beeswax and pollen to produce Propolis. Propolis is both a building material and a defense barrier for bees. Bees use it to seal the hive, protecting it from winter aggressions, germs, bacteria and other invaders. All surfaces of the hive are coated with Propolis.
