How does Polprazol Max 20 mg work?
Polprazol Max contains the active ingredient omeprazole, which belongs to a group of medications known as proton pump inhibitors. They work by reducing the amount of hydrochloric acid secreted in the stomach. It is used in adults for the short-term treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), such as heartburn and acid regurgitation.
Acid reflux is the backflow of acid from the stomach into the esophagus, which can lead to inflammation and pain. This can cause symptoms such as a burning sensation in the chest that rises up to the throat (heartburn) and a sour taste in the mouth (due to acid regurgitation).
