Prontosan is a sterile, colorless and odorless solution for irrigation of wounds. Prontosan is a two-component wound cleanser containing PHMB and betaine. The product can be used to irrigate all types of wounds, including acute and chronic ones. It allows cleaning and removal of exudates, parts of necrotic tissue from wounds and absorbs odors discharged from wounds. It also prevents infections and the formation of biofilms. Prontosan maintains adequate wound moisture and reduces scar formation. Creates an antibacterial barrier. It stimulates the proliferation of fibroblasts and keratinocytes, accelerates the process of granulation tissue formation and epithelization. The solution does not interfere with the protective bacterial flora in other parts of the body (such as the intestines) and can be used as an alternative to antibiotic prophylaxis in postoperative wounds to prevent infections in surgically treated areas. The product is characterized by high biocompatibility and is perfectly tolerated by the body.
