Sora Forte is a medicated shampoo for external use on the scalp in case of lice ( pediculosis ). The preparation is used therapeutically for head lice to remove parasites, as well as prophylactically for people who have had direct contact with people diagnosed with lice. The active substance of Sora Forte is permethrin - a synthetic organic chemical compound, classified as a third generation insecticide. Its neurotoxic effect involves prolonging the opening of voltage-gated sodium channels in the cell membrane of the parasite's neurons, altering nerve conduction in the louse's body, and paralyzing the louse's central and peripheral nervous systems. The efficacy of permethrin at a concentration of 10 mg/ml ranged from 91.5% to 99%.
